Honey Bear is a character in the Berenstain Bears series. She is Mama and Papa's second daughter and Brother and Sister's little sister. She was first mentioned in the book The Birds, the Bees, and the Berenstain Bears before she was finally born in The Berenstain Bears and Baby Makes Five.
Biography[]
Following Honey's birth, Sister becomes jealous of her, especially since she was now the middle child and felt neglected whereas Brother, Mama, and Papa were enamored by her. However, Sister eventually warmed up to Honey and accepted her as her new sister. In the book series, she is 2 years old. Despite appearing in some books that later received animated adaptions, Honey does not appear in the 2003 animated series The Berenstain Bears.
What name to give her before she was born had been a contest, in the book The Birds, the Bees and the Berenstain Bears there was a card and you had to write down the name you wanted the Baby to be and mail it in, eventually the name Honey Bear won but the winner was anonymous.
