Plot[]

When the Bear Family stays at an old lighthouse, they realize that someone else could be in the lighthouse with them.

Summary[]

When the Bear Family vacations in an old lighthouse rendered obsolete by modern technology, they discover, from Mr. Barnacle, a local sailor bear that it’s rumored to be haunted by the old lighthouse keeper Captain Salt. Papa has always been fascinated by old buildings and always tells the cubs they need to keep history alive. That night, they check out the top of the lighthouse where the light used to be, the cubs discover clam shells on the top floor. Although the cubs encounter mysterious sights and sounds from a glowing figure on the beach to footsteps at night, they’re anything but spooked. In fact Brother and Sister actively pursue the clues to the point where they not only reveal the ’ghost’ but come up with a way to give new life to the old lighthouse as well as the old lighthouse keeper. As it turns out, the old lighthouse keeper is not a ghost but in fact is only pretending to be a ghost to scare people away from his collection. When Mama and Papa finally meet him, they ask why he stayed here, he said that he stayed at the lighthouse because he didn't really have anywhere else to go. He decides he should ship out, especially because the Bear Family knows the truth, but Mama says that he should have one final meal before he does go. After having some delicious flounder, he treats the family to some incredible sea stories, which they all enjoy. Before leaving Brother and Sister have an idea, Captain Salt, should stay and turn the lighthouse into a museum, especially since Papa is always telling the family they should preserve their history. In the end, the lighthouse becomes a tourist attraction with Captain Salt as the tour guide and host of the museum.
