The Berenstain Bears Catch the Bus is the second segment of the twelfth episode in season two of The Berenstain Bears. It first aired on October 21, 2003 and is based on the book of the same name.
Summary[]
When Brother is constantly tardy each day, his parents and sister getting fed up as he is showing no remorse for his timing.
Plot[]
Brother's tardiness has become such an inconvenience for others, whether it's catching the bus or hanging out at a friend's house way past dinner time. This is starting to make his family annoyed as they are fed up with Brother being irresponsible with his timing. After staying late at Lenny's house to try a new game he got, Brother comes home after dinner is over, Mama said she saved leftovers for him. To help prevent him being late in the future, he's given a watch one month before his birthday to correct the behavior. Brother is given with the time, but he doesn't have the will to be punctual and he continues making excuses this results in Sister lashing out at Brother for missing a chance to see her favorite author. Mama instead tells Brother the watch isn't supposed to immediately solve his tardiness, he needs to fix it himself. It isn't until Lenny causes him to be late for a movie does he realize how inconsiderate it is keep others waiting. Lenny explains that he was practicing his new game this results in them missing part of the movie, the theatre is so crowded that the only spot left is behind an adult so Brother doesn't get to see the film very well. After telling Sister what happened he now understands why being late is not okay, Brother promises to be better at being on time. Before long Brother is the one on time and ready for the bus as he is outside and waiting.
Differences From the Book[]
- In the book, the story tells that Brother and Sister were sleeping throughout their preparation of school. In the TV episode, Brother and Sister were arguing over Brother coming to the bus and other important events so late.

- Ursula Major's name in the episode is a pun of the Ursa Major constellation. Also her books "The Big Dipper Mysteries" is a pun off the Big Dipper constellation.
