The Berenstain Bears and the Big Picture is a book in the Berenstain Bears Cub Club series. It was first published in 1994.
Summary[]
Mama is tired of the cubs sitting around all day watching TV and bans them from watching TV.
Plot[]
Mama heads into the living room to find Brother and Sister watching TV, who then plead to her not to turn it off, as watching too much TV turns their brains into "mush". Brother begs Mama not to take TV away, but Mama, firm in her decision, turns the TV off and leaves the cubs distressed.
Suddenly, Brother has an idea. He and Sister both head out of the treehouse and engage in outdoor activities. They first saw grass, trees, birds, bees, and the sky. They then went to find other cubs to play with in the forest and at the playground. It started to rain and the cubs were met with a strong gust of wind from a hurricane.
When the storm passed, the cubs returned home at sundown to find Papa watching TV, with them reminding him what Mama told him: "Too much of that TV slush will surely turn your brain into mush!"
