Sister: Sometimes little bears' good behavior ends when they pack their pajamas and stay over with friends.
Mama: Hello? Brother, Cousin Fred!
Brother: Hello? The fifth math problem? I got five and a half. You too? Great! Bye.
Brother: Hello? Sister, it's Lizzy Bruin!
Sister: I wonder what's she's come up with now. She always has some big idea: a stuffed animal tea party, dressing up in grownups' clothes in the attic... one time, she even organized a club in Farmer Ben's chicken coop! P.U.!
Brother: I know, you've told me... about five times.
Sister: Hey, Lizzie! What's up? A what? Really, at your house? Saturday night? Of course I can come! Well, just as soon as I ask Mama and Papa.
Sister: Mama! Mama!
Mama: We're in the guest room!
Papa: But be careful! Oh!
Sister: Where's Papa?
Sister: *laughs* Oops. Sorry, Papa.
Papa: *laughs* It's alright, Sister. What's a little paint among friends?
Mama: Now, what's all the excitement?
Sister: Lizzie Bruin is having a sleepover and I'm invited! Just Millie, Anna, and me- it's okay if I go, right?
Mama: Well, I don't know...
Sister: Thanks, Mama, I knew- did you... say... no?
Mama: No, I said I don't know. You've never slept away from home before.
Sister: Yes I have Mama, at Grizzly Gramps and Gran's- one time for a whole week!
Mama: But Gramps and Gran are family, close family.
Sister: Well, the Bruins are... close neighbors! Oh, please Mama? It'll be so much fun. I'm taking my player, and Anna and Millie have great tapes, so we're going to make popcorn and-
Mama: Oh, I suppose it's alright. But, as part of this family, we expect you to behave properly when you're away from home. Sleeping over at a friend's house is a kind of special privilege, and something that goes with privilege is responsibility. Do you know what those words mean, Sister?
Sister: Sure. Priv-il-ege means allowed to do stuff. And responsibility means not messing up.
Papa: Well, it means a little more than that.
Mama: Papa's right. Being responsible means that no matter what anyone else says or does...
Sister: I do what I know is right.
Papa: That's our little girl.
Mama: Okay then, you can go. But only if you promise to remember that.
Sister: Yay! I promise! Thanks, Mama, I have to call Lizzy!
Papa: Oh! *groans*
Mama: *laughs*
Sister and Lizzy: *laughing*
Sister: I can hardly wait, Lizzy! Your slumber party is going to be so much fun!
???: Did somebody say... slumber party? Can I come?
Lizzy: *laughs* Sure! Why not? What's one more?
Stacey: Hi!
???: Lizzy's having a slumber party. Wait 'til I tell Linda!
Stacey: *gasps*
???: Whee!
Stacey: There's a slumber party at Lizzy Bruin's house!
Queenie: *gasps*
Lizzy: What does it say?
Sister: That you're having a slumber party!
Sister and Lizzy: *laughing*
Too-Tall: Hey, Queenie.
Queenie: Hi, Too-Tall. Where did you get the boombox?
Smirk: Hey, Queenie, check this out.
Queenie: Pretty nice.
Smirk: Thanks.
Queenie: Not you, Smirk, the boombox!
Smirk: Oh.
Queenie: It sure would be nice to have that at Lizzy's slumber party.
Smirk: A party? Great!
Queenie: It's a slumber party! Girls only.
Smirk: So, does that mean we aren't invited? Ugh!
Too-Tall: Not necessarily.
Mama: Sister, I am so angry and disappointed. You are grounded young lady. One day in up your room and one full week in the house (You're going to church tomorrow)
