Opening quote

The Berenstain Bears at the Giant Mall is the first segment of the second episode in season 3 of The Berenstain Bears. It first aired on Treehouse TV on April 26, 2003, and later on PBS on October 7, 2003. It is based on the book of the same name.

Summary[]

The Bear family goes to visit the new mall and are amazed by the sheer size of it. Mama sets some rules just to make sure that nobody gets lost. Papa, however, eschews the idea, declaring that a woodsbear like him doesn't get lost. However, he learns the hard way that rules are for everyone after he finds himself in the little lost cubs station.

Plot[]

While riding bikes, Brother and Sister ride into town; Papa is at Mr. Grizzwald's Hardware Store, planning to get a carving set, but the store doesn't have what he's looking for.

Differences[]

  • The book opened with the Bear family going to the mall. The episode opened with Brother and Sister riding their bikes and Papa was at a hardware store.
  • In the book, the Bear family browsed the mall then bought themselves some items. In the episode, Mama, Sister, and Brother explore the mall while Papa looks for the hardware store.
  • In the book, Papa ends up at the Little Lost Cub station when he gets lost. In the episode, Papa finds himself in the missing cubs area.
  • In the book, the Bear family got lunch after finding Papa then went home. This was omitted in the episode.
